Mike Zigler, a 2002 JMS graduate and former editor of the Rebel Yell who earned the respect of UNLV administrators, faculty and fellow students alike died October 15.  He was 29.

Earlier in the day Zigler, a member of the College of Urban Affairs Alumni Board, had attended an alumni Homecoming mixer in Greenspun Hall.  At the mixer he spoke enthusiastically with his former professors about his current job as Assistant Director of Communications for MGM Mirage.

In an interview with a current Yell reporter, former UNLV President Carol Harter, who dealt frequently with Zigler when he was Yell editor, called him “a wonderful young man, tough journalist, caring guy. . . one of the best of the Yell’s editors.”
