Hank GreenspunThe Hank Greenspun School of Journalism and Media Studies is named after the visionary Hank Greenspun, a fiery and tenacious public advocate who founded and published the Las Vegas Sun daily newspaper.

Hank Greenspun enthusiastically confronted public issues, using the power of the press to fight corruption and demagoguery and to champion the welfare of the poor and disenfranchised. Hank Greenspun passed away in 1989 but his legacy lives on at the Hank Greenspun School of Journalism and Media Studies, where faculty and students actively emphasize the powerful functions of communication in addressing challenging social issues and promoting public good.

We strategically use communication knowledge to enhance the quality of life with our progressive educational curriculum, applied research efforts, relevant media production projects, and influential community outreach programs.
